Naked Hockey is a British independent field hockey brand with a reputation built on one relationship: co-founder Felix Denayer, who captained Belgium's Red Lions to Olympic gold and ranks among the most decorated players in the history of international field hockey. Since joining in 2020, Felix has shaped every stick around what elite competition actually demands, specific carbon construction, precise bow profiles measured in millimetres, and the consistency that international level play requires. Why we started

Naked Hockey was founded in 2018 by three lifelong hockey players who were tired of equipment engineered to a price point rather than to the game. Most field hockey sticks come from companies that treat hockey as one product line among many, making boots for other sports and apparel for mass retail, with construction decisions made at a distance from the sport itself. We wanted something built only for field hockey, by people who understood why a stick is built the way it is.

An Olympic gold medallist behind construction, not just marketing

Felix Denayer is a co-founder and shareholder in Naked Hockey, not a sponsored name on a stick. He spent two decades competing at the highest level of the game before retiring from international hockey in 2025 and club hockey in 2026. When he joined in 2020 he did not want a standard sponsorship deal, he wanted to help build the range. Every stick reflects what he required at international level: specific carbon percentages, precise bow positions, and the performance consistency elite competition demands.

What we build differently

We work with the premier field hockey manufacturer in the world. Carbon percentage is stated clearly on every stick, not hidden behind a marketing label. Bow position is given in millimetres, not vague descriptions. If you ask us why a stick is built a particular way, we can answer specifically, because the person who asked for that construction is one of our founders.

Our design is minimalist by choice. Clean graphics, no unnecessary branding, nothing on the stick that does not serve a purpose. The name Naked reflects that: strip back everything that does not need to be there, and what is left performs better.

Teamwear

Naked Hockey also designs and manufactures teamwear for clubs at every level, from grassroots to some of the biggest clubs in world hockey. The 26/27 collection includes playing kits, training ranges, midlayers, softshell jackets, and the Naked Robe, built with technical fabrics engineered for performance and durability across a full season.

Every kit is fully custom, with clubs working directly with us on design, colours, and fit. Responsible material options include recycled polyester certified to the Global Recycled Standard and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified fabric routes on request. Who we are built for

We are not trying to be the biggest brand in field hockey. We are trying to be the most credible one for players who care most about the game.
